If it had not been for an early 1940's photo session that brought my grandfather and grandmother together, I would not exist. Before I ever took a formal class, my grandfather taught me how to compose a frame, shoot 8 mm movies, and edit film reels. He also taught me, at age 10, how to drive a stick shift car. I am a husband, father, boy scout leader, do-it-yourselfer, avid ultimate frisbee player, and youth coach. I eat scrambled eggs every morning laid by one or more of my 7 chickens. We had 3 large dogs at one time, now down to 1. By many people's standards, I watch entirely too much TV but I rationalize that given the lack of most other vices. I was born, raised and still live in Tampa, FL. I started building a cabin in the mountains of Western North Carolina a few years ago. You can see the process here.
After decades of working with all types of people in a multitude of environments, I strive to break the photographer/director stereotype. I am kind and respectful to my crew, thoughtful and creative when faced with challenging situations, as well as patient and focused in regards to the expectations of each client.
